Restricted access and tiles:
Where access is restricted we regret that we cannot accept responsibility for accidental damages. We must also point out that fitting carried out on thermoplastic or any other type of tiled floor surface must be at the customer’s own risk.
Wires and pipes:
We must ask you to advise our fitters of positions of any wires or pipes prior to fitting otherwise we cannot accept responsibility for the fracture of such wires, under-floor pipes or heating, or any resulting damage.
Clearance of rooms:
It would be most helpful if you could arrange for the rooms to be cleared of furniture and old carpet prior to the arrival of our fitters. If you would like us to clear furniture or old carpet for you please notify us that you need these services before the fitting date. We will be pleased to oblige for a nominal charge per service, per room.
We regret that we cannot accept responsibility for resulting loss or damage.
We must further point out that if our fitter has a full schedule and finds at the last minute that the rooms have not been cleared, he may not be able to carry out the service and he may have to defer to another day.
Specialist work not included in standard fitting:
Out standard fitting fee is based on fitting only. Hessian-backed domestic flooring will carry different charges. We do have to make a charge for materials used, such as underlay and accessories. We regret that we cannot accept responsibility for cutting and re-hanging of doors if they have to be moved to allow fitting; nor can we move central heating equipment or other large apparatus. This is specialist work and we have to respectfully ask you to call in a carpenter or heating engineer to complete these specialist services.
Invalidation of wear guarantee:
It is strongly recommended that a good quality underlay is used when fitting new carpets together with the correct fixings. The wear guarantee of the carpet will be invalidated if the new carpet is fitted over an existing carpet or an inferior or worn out underlay, or indeed where the carpet is loose-laid.
Maintenance and carpet care:
Modern synthetic fibre carpets benefit greatly from being vacuum cleaned regularly and preferably each day with an upright cleaner (we recommend a cylinder cleaner for loop-piled Berbers). Even when protected against soiling or staining, any soiling needs to be removed otherwise grit and dirt become embedded in the carpet and cause premature matting. Likewise, stains should be mopped up (not rubbed in) as quickly as possible with kitchen towelling before being treated further. If necessary, consult a carpet cleaning specialist.
Your own sizes
If you use your own sizes for the carpet, vinyl or any of our products, we regret that we cannot take responsibility if the product is the wrong size. We would always prefer to measure the area ourselves to limit any unnecessary problems.
We much appreciate your co-operation, and thank you again for giving us the opportunity to serve you.
